The Globe Lie - either does not know how to read OR is deliberately dishonest

In his video....

He downloads images from the following NASA page, moves them into Photoshop and shows some anomalies.
But that's OK because NASA states up front, that the LRO Satellite images shown are "REIMAGED" and adjusted from the originals for contrast, color, and other properties.

He never mentions that the NASA photos are reimaged. Instead he presents them as originals, and NASA fakes.

This is deliberate deception and story manipulation on the part of The Globe Lie.

For Robbie Davidson, the flat Earth movement is all about supporting the biblical 7-days of creation account. In his view, anything else has to be a lie.

But folks, there is nothing wrong with the science and pictures that prove the Earth is a globe.

Recent drama at the Globebusters channel

- A copyright complaint was filed concerning their Globebusters logo, it being too similar to the Columbia Pictures Ghostbuster icon.
- So Globebusters removed all of their videos. They left up only authorized by permission mirrored videos.
- Turns out that the complaint was not filed by Columbia Pictures, but rather by another YouTube channel.
- YouTube then demonetized their channel since they had no videos of their own on display.
- Bob Knodel talked to a Columbia Pictures lawyer and it was confirmed Columbia did not file against them.
- Columbia said they could continue to use their current Globebusters logo.
- Yesterday (March 14, 2019) Bob Knodel posted video "GLOBEBUSTERS - An End of Era? A Personal Message." That's where he outlined what had happened (as we listed in our points above) and also mentioned that his personal finances have taken a turn for the worse after his appearance in the "Beyond the Curve" documentary. He ended the video not specifying if the channel will continue.
- Let's wait and see that happens.

As the Earth rotates, the gyroscope appears to lean off-axis, staying in its original position as the Earth’s curvature changes in relation. “What we found is, is when we turned on that gyroscope we found that we were picking up a drift. A 15 degree per hour drift,” Knodel says, acknowledging that the gyroscope’s behavior confirmed to exactly what you’d expect from a gyroscope on a rotating globe.

“Now, obviously we were taken aback by that. ‘Wow, that’s kind of a problem,’” Knodel says. “We obviously were not willing to accept that, and so we started looking for ways to disprove it was actually registering the motion of the Earth.”

Despite further experimental refinements, Knodel’s gyroscope consistently behaves as if the Earth is round. Yet Knodel’s beliefs seem unchanged when discussing the experiment at a Flat Earth meetup in Denver. “We don’t want to blow this, you know? When you’ve got $20,000 in this freaking gyro. If we dumped what we found right now, it would be bad. It would be bad. What I just told you was confidential,” Knodel says to another Flat Earther in attendance."

Fake news, going viral is not that hard, especially when you are unencumbered by the truth.

And in an age where truth matters less than the clicks and algorithms that run the world, just about anybody can post anything and wield massive power.

How did this happen?

Newspapers came first.

Later we relied on radio trusted personalities for news – Edward R. Murrow, Graham McNamee, Lowell Thomas and others. ABC, CBS and NBC.

TV in the 60’s and 70’s – news was seen as a public good. It did not generate money.

"The Fairness Doctrine," the requirement for using the regulated broadcasting frequencies, was followed by the networks. It stated...

1. that every licensee devote a reasonable portion of broadcast time to the discussion and consideration of controversial issues of public importance, and…

2. that in doing so, [the broadcaster must be] fair – that is, [the broadcaster] must affirmatively endeavor to make … facilities available for the expression of contrasting viewpoints held by responsible elements with respect to the controversial issues presented.

Then in the 80’s we saw the rise of satellite and cable networks, which did not use the broadcast airways of radio and TV. So in 1987 they cancelled "The Fairness Doctrine" all together.

Then came CNN – the first 24-hour news station startup by Ted Turner. There was not much interest in 24-hour news until "Operation Desert Storm," and live footage of the war in Iraq. Watching the war unfold in real time attracted a large audience.

Then Headline News, CNBC, MSNCM and Fox News. Since "The Fairness Doctrine" did not apply to them – they fell into ideological camps.

The gatekeepers went away and the news became a constant commodity racing after headlines, once crisis to the next. Now anyone can become an investigative journalist, and get their voice heard.

Connect the whole world, let every voice be heard, and that is how it exactly went down.

The gatekeeper then became the algorithm, and the agenda was to keep you on the platform for as long as possible. Facts are not part of the algorithm. The more inflammatory the post, the more people would respond to it, and then fed even more by the algorithm.

So the paranoid Schizophrenic down the street has just as much chance of being heard as a seasoned journalist staffed with editors.

Social media happened and turned into an outrage machine. Hate speech proliferated with anti-vaxxers and flat Earthers. Needless deranged conspiracy theories thrived. Disinformation campaigns trying to effect elections multiplied.

Now 10-years into the social media era and the optimism is gone. The truth is harder than ever to discern.

Now Facebook and “project voco” (take a sample of your voice and clone it - to now say anything you may want) cast a shadow over whether any video is authentic or not. Snapchat capture of one person saying something, and then put it on another face saying it. GPT2 is an AI that can create any fake news article by just giving it a few quotes. Take a picture and put a fake quote on it.

This deterioration of truth is fracturing our society.

Starting in the city of Regina at the Saskatchewan Science Center...

Next Kurtis is going to bike 138-km from Regina to Stoughton on Saskatchewan Highway 33 (chosen because it's a long stretch of straight flat road).

Theory...

With the trip now complete, time to measure the shadow lengths...

Results:

The Sun's shadow was measured at the same time at both locations (Rigina & Stoughton, Saskatchewan)

Stoughton shadow length is - 66.1 cm
Regina shadow length is - 70.0 cm

Difference of = 3.9 cm proves => earth is a sphere.

Now to measure the size of the Earth:

Regina = Sun at altitude angle of 56.5-degrees
Stoughton = Sun at altitude angle of 55.0-degrees

= 1.5-degrees separate – or 1 240^th the circumference of the Earth

240 * 138 km = 33,120 km

40,075 km is the true value, so 17% off the true value for this experiment.

The Gleason flat Earth Map & the principle of Perspective, both fail at this point. Rob Skiba advanced the conspiracy that a local sun only 3,000 miles up, and shifting yearly between the tropic of Cancer (first day of northern hemisphere summer) and the Tropic Capricorn (first day of northern hemisphere winter) could explain the flat Earth seasons.

But unfortunately, that has failed in every respect. The numbers and angle of sunrise and sunset predicted by the Gleason map at locations is false - as proved by real observation over and over again.

The Gleason flat Earth Map also fails the equinox test. Everywhere on the Earth* on those two days (12-hours of sunlight AND 12-hours of night time) the sun rises exactly 90-degress due east and sets exactly 270-degress due west. On a globe Earth YES, on the Gleason flat earth map NO.

March or Vernal Equinox (March 20, 2019)
September or autumnal Equinox (September 23, 2019)

(*) No matter where you are on Earth (except for the North and South Poles), you have a due east and due west point on your horizon.

YouTube is playing a significant role in convincing some people that the Earth is flat, research suggests.

A study quizzed people at flat earth conferences and found most cited videos viewed on the site as a key influence.

They were won over by videos which claimed to amass evidence proving the Earth was not a spherical planet.

YouTube needed to do a better job of ensuring visitors get accurate information alongside such videos, said the researcher behind the study.

"There's a lot of helpful information on YouTube but also a lot of misinformation," Prof Asheley Landrum from Texas Tech University, who carried out the study, told The Guardian.

The algorithms the site used to guide people to topics they might be interested in made it easy to "end up down the rabbit hole" of misinformation, said Prof Landrum.

"Believing the Earth is flat is of itself is not necessarily harmful, but it comes packaged with a distrust in institutions and authority more generally," she added.

The study involved interviews with 30 attendees at two conferences.

Questioning revealed YouTube had suggested the flat earth videos after attendees had watched other clips at home about conspiracy theories.

Some said they only watched the videos to criticise them but were won over by the arguments being advanced. The results from Prof Landrum's study were presented at the annual meeting of the Association for the Advancement of Science this weekend.

Prof Landrum said there was a need for scientists and science advocates to produce their own YouTube videos that answered and debunked the claims of flat earthers and conspiracy theorists.

"The only tool we have to battle misinformation is to try and overwhelm it with better information," said Prof Landrum.

All but one of those interviewed said they had changed their minds after watching videos promoting conspiracy theories on YouTube

Researchers believe they have identified the prime driver for a startling rise in the number of people who think the Earth is flat: Google’s video-sharing site, YouTube.

Their suspicion was raised when they attended the world’s largest gatherings of Flat Earthers at the movement’s annual conference in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 2017, and then in Denver, Colorado, last year.

Interviews with 30 attendees revealed a pattern in the stories people told about how they came to be convinced that the Earth was not a large round rock spinning through space but a large flat disc doing much the same thing.

Of the 30, all but one said they had not considered the Earth to be flat two years ago but changed their minds after watching videos promoting conspiracy theories on YouTube. “The only person who didn’t say this was there with his daughter and his son-in-law and they had seen it on YouTube and told him about it,” said Asheley Landrum, who led the research at Texas Tech University.

The interviews revealed that most had been watching videos about other conspiracies, with alternative takes on 9/11, the Sandy Hook school shooting and whether Nasa really went to the moon, when YouTube offered up Flat Earth videos for them to watch next.

Some said they watched the videos only in order to debunk them but soon found themselves won over by the material.

Landrum said one of the most popular Flat Earth videos, "200 proofs Earth is not a spinning ball” appears to be effective because it offers arguments that appeal to so many mindsets, from biblical literalists and conspiracy theorists to those of a more scientific bent.

One way or another, the interviewees found themselves believers and before long were asking “where is the curve?” and “why is the horizon always at eye level?”

Landrum, who presented her results at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Washington DC, said she did not think YouTube was doing anything overtly wrong, but said that if the site wanted to help it could tweak its algorithm to show more accurate information.

“There’s a lot of helpful information on YouTube but also a lot of misinformation,” Landrum said. “Their algorithms make it easy to end up going down the rabbit hole, by presenting information to people who are going to be more susceptible to it.”

“Believing the Earth is flat in of itself is not necessarily harmful, but it comes packaged with a distrust in institutions and authority more generally,” she added. “We want people to be critical consumers of the information they are given, but there is a balance to be had.”

Landrum called on scientists and others to create their own YouTube videos to combat the proliferation of conspiracy videos. “We don’t want YouTube to be full of videos saying here are all these reasons the Earth is flat. We need other videos saying here’s why those reasons aren’t real and here’s a bunch of ways you can research it for yourself.”

But she conceded that some Flat Earthers may not be swayed by a scientists’ words. When the US astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson explained how small sections of large curved surfaces will always appear flat to the little creatures that crawl upon it, his message was seen by some Flat Earthers as patronising and dismissive, Landrum said.

“There’s always going to be a small percentage of people who will reject anything that scientists put out there but maybe there’s a group in the middle that won’t,” she added. “The only tool we have to battle misinformation is to try and overwhelm it with better information.”

Google did not respond to a request for comment.

Is the biggest fault in the belief of the flat-earthers the ridiculous explanation for the Day/Night cycle, which asserts that the Sun is a spotlight, or that sunlight can only travel a few thousand miles before petering out?

Or is it the failure of the flat Earth model to explain something so simple as the phases of the Moon (or even lunar eclipses) so that they have to instead resort to lunatic assertions like "it's self-illuminating" or "it's transparent" or “it's a hologram"?

Or could it be that the biggest fault of the flat-earthers is their piss-poor explanation for why the North Star can't be seen from the Southern Hemisphere? ("It's just the law of perspective!”)

Or maybe how star-trail time lapses, when photographed in the Southern Hemisphere, appearing to circle around in the opposite direction compared to the north, and are erroneously chalked up to "perspective" also?

Or how about their denial of gravity; because they can't explain why the Sun and Moon shouldn't come crashing down to the flat Earth, or how the huge mass of the Earth doesn't pull itself into a spherical shape?

Or is their biggest fault how they are unable to comprehend the enormous size of the Earth while claiming "if the Earth was a ball we should see curvature when looking at the horizon", but then flatly deny that ships are seen going over the horizon, asserting its just an optical illusion?

No.

As faulty as those are, I think the biggest fallacy of the flat-earthers is their belief that a secret organization (commonly known as "They") have been perpetrating the globe Earth deception for hundreds of years, continually manifesting their ruse with ever more elaborate schemes (like "scientism", fake space agencies and make-believe satellites) just to convince the "sheeple" that the Earth isn't flat, and also to hide the fact that the entire observable universe is squeezed under a dome only a few thousand miles up.

If the Earth was really flat and "They" wanted to maintain complete control over the populace, I can think of much easier ways to do it than a bombastic globe Earth ploy which requires millions of people working in their fields (Earth sciences, geography, cartography, geodetic surveying, meteorology, oceanography, climatology, space agencies, astronomy, physics, satellite communications, Antarctic research, environmental monitoring, navigation, GPS, etc.) to either "look the other way" or to lie about what they really do for a living, never spilling the beans.

Flat Earthers don't want to understand the difference between pressure and pressurization

pressure - it means how much something is pushing on something else. It is expressed as force per unit area: P=F/A. In technology, pressure is often specified in multiples of atmospheric pressure.

atmospheric pressure - the pressure exerted by the weight of the atmosphere on the Earth's surface, which at sea level has a mean value of 101,325 pascals (roughly 14.6959 pounds per square inch).

pressurization - To put a (gas or liquid in a container) under a greater than normal outside pressure.

Our Earth's atmospheric pressure gradient proves there is NO DOME (an isolated pressurized container over the surface), and that gravity does the job alone.

In a container the pressure is the same in all places. But on Earth the atmospheric pressure radically DECREASES with distance ABOVE THE SURFACE => there in NO DOME.

The WHY behind the Flat Earth Conspiracy

Someone once told me that the why behind the Flat Earth conspiracy is, if we are convinced of the globe, we are convinced that we’re insignificant. If we believe the globe, we believe in billions of light years of open space between us and the rest of the universe. Our lives do seem small and unimportant compared to all of that.

Flatties want to feel special. There’s a comfort in believing that you know some measure of truth that others don’t. It gives you a warm feeling to see people says things daily, and you quietly think to yourself "that’s what you think."

It provides you with purpose to believe in a loving God who created the world for you and just you. This perfect little snow globe built just for humanity.

Space on the other hand it scares them. It’s vast, it’s dangerous, and incredibly difficult to explore. It requires them to put their faith in the hands of those smarter than they are because they can’t comprehend the large sizes and timescales…

To put their faith in men scares them, to consider the vastness of the universe scares them. To consider how meaningless each of us are scares them.

But it doesn’t scare me. Knowing that I’m a single grain of sand on an eternal Beach is simply humbling to me. I’m okay with knowing the Earth isn’t a flat plane made specifically for me. Well to answer your question right up front, just use 2 carrier phase multi-frequency GPS receivers to measure the dxdydz vector. That's how we have been surveying since the 1990s.

The results you get using high precision GPS will closely match the older pre-GPS methods such as triangulation and electronic distance measuring techniques combined with measuring the vertical angles with high precision theodolites.

Infrared photography. This latest flat Earth craze offers no new insights

The flat Earth community is now insisting that they can see farther with infrared light. Yes and No.

But since infrared light is not visible to the human eye, that violates their very own tenant of - trust your senses.
By most estimates, we can see about 0.0035% of the electromagnetic spectrum (that includes gamma rays, radio waves, x-rays, infrared, ultraviolet, microwaves, etc.).

No - In a vacuum all frequencies of light travel at the same speed. What determines whether we can see a distant object or not, is its intrinsic brightness more so than distance. The brighter the object, the farther away it can be seen.

The farthest from which an average unaided human eye could see a candle is about 1.6 miles. Past that distance it becomes too faint. But a telescope has a lens larger than the human eye, so it can detect fainter and dimmer objects.

The Andromeda galaxy is about 2.5 million light years away, yet we can see it with the naked eye in our evening sky (magnitude 3.44). That's because it has the brightness of about 1 trillion stars.

Yes - But with respect as seen through the Earth's atmosphere, wavelengths of light are reflected, scattered, and attenuated differently. There is a slight advantage using infrared. For two objects giving of the same energy flux, say 1,000 watts, the infrared source will be seen as brighter due to less atmospheric interference.

What is infrared light?

In 1800, William Herschel conducted an experiment measuring the difference in temperature between the colors in the visible spectrum. He placed thermometers within each color of the visible spectrum. The results showed an increase in temperature from blue to red. When he noticed an even warmer temperature measurement just beyond the red end of the visible spectrum, Herschel had discovered infrared light!

Humans at normal body temperature, radiate most strongly in the infrared, which is definitely not seen by human eyes. The scientific discovery that the heat we all feel coming from the Sun is largely a radiation beyond the visible red color of the solar spectrum was made by William Herschel in 1800. He named the invisible radiation measured by his thermometers (see later the Herschel experiment) as infrared.

The Earth’s atmosphere strongly absorbs infrared and UV radiation. The purple area below shows what wavelengths of sunlight actually reach the Earth's surface.

Wavelengths used for photography range from about 700 nm to about 900 nm. Film is usually sensitive to visible light too, so an infrared-passing filter is used; this lets infrared (IR) light pass through to the camera, but blocks all or most of the visible light spectrum (the filter thus looks black or deep red).

Scattering accounts for a significant loss of flux from any collimated or narrow light beam passing through the atmosphere. The molecules of air scatter light, but their effect is negligible in the infrared.

The other attributes of infrared photographs include very dark skies and penetration of atmospheric haze, caused by reduced Rayleigh scattering and Mie scattering, respectively, compared to visible light.

In infrared systems, lenses are specifically designed for focal plane arrays (detectors). IR detectors are not designed around traditional visible lens formats. Each pixel has a dimension and is measured typically in micrometers (microns or µm). The pixels are normally square. So a detector that has 17 micron square pixels, and - 640 pixels across and 480 pixels vertically, the detector has a total size of 10.88 millimeters x 8.16 millimeters, and has a diagonal of 13.6 millimeters.

To bring it back to visible lens formats, 13.6 millimeters is approximately one-half inch. In visible terms, this would be a one-half inch format lens. In the infrared industry, most infrared lens catalogs specify the lens size against the number and size of pixels. For instance, a lens data sheet will state that it is compatible with infrared detectors that are of a certain resolution (640 x 480) with a certain pixel size (17 µm).

So concerning the question, "How far can you see?"

The answer is, given the parameters above (50 mm lens, 640 x 480, 17 µm detector) a one-meter target can be detected (fills two pixels) at 1,471 meters away. It can recognize an object (fills eight pixels) at 368 meters away. It can identify a target (fills 13 pixels) at 226 meters away. Larger targets increase the distance. Stronger criteria (more pixels assigned to detection, recognition, and identification) would reduce the distance.

In space, one of the advantages of observing in the near-infrared is that dust is transparent to it. This is why an optical telescope would be unable to see a star enshrouded in dust, whereas one working in the near-infrared would be able to detect its emission.

Relatively cold objects invisible to optical telescopes/cameras become visible in the infrared.

Conclusion:

With regard to flat Earth verses globe Earth, for an object or land mass above the plane of visibility, under some circumstances it is possible to see further with infrared.

But the observers horizon is also a limiting factor. On a flat Earth your horizon can be at most 7,918 miles away (the diameter of the Earth). So barring any atmospheric interference, you should be able to see that far.

On a globe Earth the observers horizon distance is limited by their height above the surface, and the height of objects beyond the horizon line. Infrared or visible light does not matter in this case.

But when we pointed out that the Earth's axis tilt varies over time, from 22.1 and 24.5 degrees, he abandoned the email conversation. Fancy that.

Earth's obliquity oscillates between 22.1 and 24.5 degrees on a 41,000-year cycle.
It was 23.4° in 2010, but has since move on lower.
Earth's mean obliquity is currently 23°26′12.5″ (or 23.43681°) and decreasing.

It’s the 21^st century bud, so get a new life.

Jeranism (Jeran Campanella) claims freedom of expression right denied, but fails to recognize that YouTube is a for profit enterprise offered to the public FOR FREE. Since Google owns and operates the platform they are entitled to set the rules.

5. Force the Level. Done some initial first in February 2018. No physical structure needed. March 9 & 10 test scheduled using survey equipment over land, then leap-frog to the next farther area.
Our note: FECORE published a pretty slide show that went over their preliminary test. But when a colleague asked to get their observational data, the MS Excel sheet with data and formulas, they deleted the entire comment thread. Morale = they publish, explain the experiment and THEIR interpretation of the data, but won't share that data with the public for independent verification.

When recommendations are at their best, they help users find a new song to fall in love with, discover their next favorite creator, or learn that great paella recipe. That's why we update our recommendations system all the time—we want to make sure we’re suggesting videos that people actually want to watch.

You might remember that a few years ago, viewers were getting frustrated with clickbaity videos with misleading titles and descriptions (“You won’t believe what happens next!”). We responded by updating our system to focus on viewer satisfaction instead of views, including measuring likes, dislikes, surveys, and time well spent, all while recommending clickbait videos less often. More recently, people told us they were getting too many similar recommendations, like seeing endless cookie videos after watching just one recipe for snickerdoodles. We now pull in recommendations from a wider set of topics—on any given day, more than 200 million videos are recommended on the homepage alone. In fact, in the last year alone, we’ve made hundreds of changes to improve the quality of recommendations for users on YouTube.

We’ll continue that work this year, including taking a closer look at how we can reduce the spread of content that comes close to—but doesn’t quite cross the line of—violating our Community Guidelines. To that end, we’ll begin reducing recommendations of borderline content and content that could misinform users in harmful ways—such as videos promoting a phony miracle cure for a serious illness, claiming the earth is flat, or making blatantly false claims about historic events like 9/11.

While this shift will apply to less than one percent of the content on YouTube, we believe that limiting the recommendation of these types of videos will mean a better experience for the YouTube community. To be clear, this will only affect recommendations of what videos to watch, not whether a video is available on YouTube. Torque the Line Flat Earth Experiment - self cancellation

Mitchel from Australia has cancelled his designed Torque the Line experiment, because the line chosen for the test, Spectra fishing braided line, was found BY HIM to be not as strong as advertised.

If or when he gets a refund from the braided line company, Mitchel asserts that he will refund the moneys contributed to this project.

We at FlatEarthLunacy have communicated with Mitchel several weeks ago, and stated that should the experiment as designed produced results, his findings would forever be inconclusive and subject to controversy.
The shape of gravity induced Catenary Curve is well established in physics. But his proposed experiment introduces several additional variables outside of the standard.

Please keep in mind that Jeranism (Jeran Campanella) was originally going to do this experiment, until Mitchel stepped in and volunteered.

Note: We show below using Mitchel's own video how he incorrectly conducted the Spectra line strength test. He is wrong. The line does hold up to specification, so Mitchel cancelled the experiment needlessly.

What Mitchel wanted to do (stretch the line across water a few kilometers, and verify the curve)...

Here we show that Mitchel tested the line incorrectly, and came up with a wrong conclusion. The line does meet the manufacturers advertised strength.

Maybe you missed this in Mitchel's video, but here the line strength registered AT LEAST 49.88 pounds before it snapped.

Here we see that a hand crank is used to pull the braided fishing line. Each crank to the next sprocket pulls the line in large length increments. When you suddenly pull the line, say 1/4 inch, it can suddenly snap.

Correct testing involves pulling the line in very minute increments until it snaps. That is not what Mitchel did.

We believe his test was conducted incorrectly. The line does meet manufacture's specifications. Therefore, no money will be refunded and all those people who contributed lose out.

Why Mitchel cancelled the experiment:
In his words, because the line chosen for the experiment was not strong enough.
But our analysis photos from Mitchel's own test video, shows that the line is as strong as rated = 50 pound strength.

Our analysis and conclusions:
1. We advised Mitchel that the experiment line used needed to be heavy non-stretchable.
2. We advised Mitchel that having the line touch and sink below the water line (which he wanted to do) invalided the use of the available standard catenary curve calculators. Line in the water has to contend with additional local variables (i.e., buoyancy of the line, the exact length of the line in the water, wave, current & temperature conditions, etc.) that the standard calculators were not setup to handle.
3. Mitchel was advised by an engineer not to conduct the experiment in salt water. Salt water changes the buoyancy of the fishing line, based on actual salinity and temperature. But Mitchel did some buoyancy calculation and insisted that salt water was fine for the experiment. We continued to disagree. This just adds another layer of variability that can change the shape of the catenary curve.
4. Whatever test results he came up with would always be in dispute, because too many external influences and experimental variables other than gravity, would affect the shape of his braided line.

On January 19th the Barcelona "Encounter Flat Earth" conference was held in Spain. About 272 people attended the event (by invitation only, to established flat Earth supporters). The ticket price was € 12 per person. Many flat Earth presentations were given.

Iru Landucci used the conference platform to present and discuss publically for the first time, the results of his ArFlat Balloon Launch.

In the balloon flight video Earth curvature is apparent (see OUR EXCLUSIVE analysis photos below).

ArFlat Balloon was successfully launched on October 6, 2018. Over $3,000 was collected in donations for this project. But during the ascent communication with the balloon was lost at an altitude of 20-km. The camera payload was recovered a few weeks later.

"Yes, they have obviously tried to hide the curvature and we think that is the reason why they do not publish the full video. They promised to publish the full video and send it to those who put money for the project, but they have not done anything promised yet.

Some people at the conference noticed that the video had parts that could be seen curvature. Iru Landucci told them the excuse that this was due to the radial distortion."

But based on the following definition (radial distortion) the curvature in the video was not caused by that effect.

"Radial distortion is most visible when taking pictures of vertical structures (not horizontal) having straight lines which then appear curved. This kind of distortion appears most visibly when the widest angle (shortest focal length) is selected either with a fixed or a zoom lens."

Conclusion:
Even though the camera is spinning and the video footage presented is short, still frame analysis verifies that curvature is indeed present.
It would be nice to have more video footage for evaluation.
Also, since the camera is not in our possession, we don't know the exact (zoom / FOV) camera setting that were used.

Notes on the GoPro Hero5 that they used...

Using the flat /globe Earth calculator provided by Walter Brislins, here is what one should expect to see at the 20 km altitude.
At that altitude, for a field of view of 180 degrees, a curvature of 4.54 degrees would be observable. Not much, but still present.

The Bedford Level Experiment Redux 2016 - Part 1

Almost 150 years later, a segment of society is still engaged in DENIALISM:

In the psychology of human behavior, denialism is a person's choice to deny reality, as a way to avoid a psychologically uncomfortable truth. Denialism is an essentially irrational action that withholds the validation of a historical experience or event, when a person refuses to accept an empirically verifiable reality.

Here is an interesting account of the Bedford Level Experiment, and the subsequent 2nd test and monetary bet between Alfred Russell Wallace and John Hampden.

1. In 1838 Samuel Birley Rowbotham performed what became known as the Bedford Level Experiment. According to Rowbotham, the experiment proved the Earth to be flat. The Old Bedford River is in the United Kingdom.

2. In 1870 John Hampden published an ad in the paper giving £500 (by flat Earthers) to debunk Rowbotham’s experiment using the same canal.

John Hampden was a protestant rector's son who had read "Theoretical Astronomy Explained and Exposed" by William Carter, and Rowbotham's account at Bedford. He wanted to rid the world of "the round Earth lie."

3. Alfred Russell Wallace (a founder of modern Biology, a scientist) accepted the challenge...

4. For this experimental attempt Hampden brought along William Carter as his referee. Wallace brought along Martin Coulcher as his witness and referee.

5. During this attempt Hampden did not look into the telescope, situated just above the water line, to observe the final result. He trusted Carter's view.

6. The data was sent to John Walsh, the editor of the Field Magazine.

After adjusting Rowbotham's method to avoid the effects of atmospheric refraction, Alfred Russell Wallace found a curvature consistent with a spherical Earth. So the original experimental results were misinterpreted by Rowbotham and therefore deemed flawed.

7. John Walsh confirmed Wallace the winner and published the results.

8. Hampden had to pay the £500 but sued Wallace for 15-years trying to get the money back. Wallace accordingly had libel suits against Hampden as well as court orders to seize and desist.

Alfred Russel Wallace failed to realize that flat Earth people are not rational. They ignored his experiment and evidence and insisted they were right. THE SAME - STILL HAPPENING TODAY.

The primary issue is - both sides (flat or globe) conduct and experiment, but interpret the results differently. The globe side uses established scientific principles. The flat side says NO, it's due to something else.

Clouds are typically found at the equator of Mars in the coldest time of year, when the planet is the farthest from the Sun in its oval-shaped orbit.

But two Earth years ago, the Curiosity team members spotted clouds in the Martian atmosphere earlier than expected.

This year, they were ready to start documenting these early clouds from the moment they first appeared in January.

What resulted are images of wispy puffs filled with ice crystals that scattered light from the setting Sun, some of them shimmering with color.

The researchers also found that the early-arrival clouds are actually at higher altitudes than is typical.

Most Martian clouds hover no more than about 60 km (37 miles) in the sky and are composed of water ice.

But the clouds Curiosity has imaged are at a higher altitude, where it’s very cold, indicating that they are likely made of frozen carbon dioxide.

Fact check = FAIL.

Yes, each time zone on the Earth is 15^o in longitude (as 15^o x 24 = 360^o). But that same 15^ospans a different mile length, depending upon latitude.

To measure distance, you need to get the parallax angle by direct observation. The parallax angle IS NOT the Earth's 15^o time zone.

So for the triangle below, if you determine the parallax angle from two points on the Earth's equator that are 15^o apart, then triangle side "a" = 900 nautical miles.

So for the triangle below, if you determine the parallax angle from two points on the Earth's latitude of 60^o, that are 15^o in longitude apart, then triangle side "a" = 449 nautical miles. etc.

Based on the two locations that you choose, all you have is the side "a" distance. Nothing else. To get the distance to any object in space, angular parallax needs to be measure from BOTH locations. THAT ANGLE IS NOT 15^o

Verify Earth curvature from any location on the globe, as easy as 1 – 2 – 3

Stop your excuses. Go outside tonight and watch the sunset !!!

Step 1 - go to Walmart or anywhere on-line and buy an inexpensive drone that has a camera.

Step 2 - find a nearby hill or place that gives you a clear view of the horizon.

Step 3 - go outside a few minutes before sunset with your drone. Turn the drone camera on, hold at eye height, and record the sunset. Immediately after the sun is gone (it has set) fly the drone 500-feet upward above your head with the camera recording the entire time. The sun will then still be visible above the horizon from the drone's elevated position, but not from your standing location (it already set there).

Continue recording as you lower the drone back down to catch it and notice that the sun is no longer visible in the camera.
Repeat several times (drone going up and down) until even at the 500-feet elevation, the sun is no longer visible from the drone.

So what is it that you just witnessed?

In summary:

=> the ability to see father (more surface land becomes exposed to view in the distance) from a higher position is only possible when living on a globe.
In the bottom picture, the tree is visible from the higher location, and not seen (hidden by Earth curvature) from the lower position.

=> the sequence of shots from higher elevations prove that the Sun really does set. That is, it does go BELOW the HORIZON.
Such an event is not possible if we were living on a flat plane. On a flat plane, everything above the plane will forever stay above it, no matter how far away from an observer it gets.

Videos like this show that there is an increase in depth between the mirage surface, to the actual surface, the further into the mirage you go.

This is proof of a curve because for the mirage to end, the actual surface needs to rise back above the required viewing angles. If the Earth was flat the water would have to dip down to accommodate the mirage, and that is not possible on a flat Earth.

The view that we see confirms that the water dips down and continues to do so further validating the globe.

They’re looking at that same seeing the Mirage, or having someone else explain to them what they’re looking at instead of looking at the other side of things and what they’re actually observing.

They’re not looking at the data properly. You’re looking at all these videos they’re horizon and then fear sets in and I’ve been lied to. Because you’re ignorant, not because you’re a bad person … and then you start believing it and then you start thinking like your awake now, you've got this awakening..."

This post is directed specifically to all the heliocentric Christians but also to anyone who asks the question "why would they lie?...for what reason?...what do they gain?"

Well for one, if you call yourself a Christian and believe the heliocentric model, you are directly contradicting the clear specifications as mentioned in the Bible about the origin of earth and secondly have been deceived by the lies of satanic pseudoscience.

Understand this, Flat Earth in itself isn't the main message to the world of whether it's flat or a ball. The message is that it's leading people to the Bible and the gospel of the truth and salvation and why is it the truth? Because it has been archaeologically, geographically, historically and scientifically proven in accordance to itself and if it is historically accurate then that means that it will be accurate in its future predictions as well.

We're running into dark times and people are too zombified to realize, whether Christians or not. People are getting chipped every day with RFID's, violence and wars at their peaks, knowledge being increased, earthquakes and other natural (or man provoked) catastrophes are occurring all over the earth...guys, you all need to wake up and fast! We're reaching what the Bible calls "The Times Of The End!" And when s*** hits the fan, and you realize the RFID's aren't optional anymore and you can't buy nor sell without them, you'll be in trouble if you don't have the faith to stand against that New World Order system! All prophets in the past were mocked and ridiculed for their teachings and warnings...I only pray this message reaches the honest and truth seeking hearts that I know are out there and to the trolls, I could care less for their foolishness. When the world realizes this, then we will be at peace again because on a Flat Earth, your race, sex, religion, political position, educational or social status doesn't matter at all. We are all brothers and sisters and one big family, all children to a God creator who is our loving father and begs us to get to know him wholeheartedly and free willingly and love him through his son who died for all mankind so that we might receive salvation and have faith to withstand great tribulations that are soon to come. The price of sacrifice and suffering lasts shortly and is worth going through for the priceless reward of living in the afterlife. I hope you get the point.

FECORE flat Earth $20,000 gyro BOONDOGGLE

FECORE spent $20,000 on a gyroscope, that they hoped would prove the Earth to be flat. However, the results they got did not line up with their expectations. They therefore tried to crush this news.

Kyrie Irving apologizes to US teachers for spreading flat-earth conspiracy theories

Kyrie Irving doesn’t believe the Earth is flat…anymore.

The NBA star has been at the center of a controversy ever since he claimed in a podcast last year that the Earth was not round. As recently as June, he said that the question was still worth debating. But yesterday (Oct. 1), at Forbes’ Under 30 Summit in Boston, the Celtics point guard apologized for spreading the theory, saying he didn’t realize how much his words would influence people.

In an on-stage exchange with Kurt Badenhausen, a senior editor at Forbes, Irving said he regretted spreading that particular conspiracy theory—though he stopped short of actually stating that he believed the Earth was round. Instead, he said, “even if you believe in that [flat-earth theories], just don’t come out and say that stuff. That’s for intimate conversations.”

Irving says he was partially influenced by “the rabbit hole” of YouTube conspiracy videos. That makes him a part of a growing movement of mostly online conspiracy theorists who believe, among other things, that the Earth is flat, and that the US government is lying to everyone about it. The movement is growing in popularity—last November, more than 500 people attended the first-ever Flat Earth Conference in a suburb of Raleigh, North Carolina. The New Yorker’s Alan Burdick profiled this conference in May 2018, writing that these kind of conspiracy theories have thrived in the post-truth era of Donald Trump.

On stage, Irving said he wished to particularly apologize to science teachers across the US, some of whom, he says, have approached him to say they had to double down on their curriculum, presumably to convince their students that the Earth really was round.

In questioning scientifically proven theories, Irving is making teachers’ jobs more difficult. A 2017 NPR investigation revealed that US teachers feel they are losing the battle against the “fake news” that students find online. One teacher, Nick Gurol, told NPR that his middle-school students believe the Earth is flat because Irving said so. He asked, “How have I failed these kids so badly they think the Earth is flat just because a basketball player says it?”

The following road in Australia runs directly east to west. As you can clearly see the Sun is setting significantly South of due West.

Look at the Sun on the app (above the 6). It shows that the Sun should be setting in a north westerly direction. Reality has the Sun setting in the direction where the pen is pointing.

The Sun angles on the AE map do not work.

So the flat Earth app FAILS.
