Flat Earth NOT - New satellite telescope tracking software allows anyone to DISPROVE the flat Earth myth, that satellites don't exist and nothing is in Earth low orbit

Dear Readers,      

The flat Earth conspiracy community is still pushing the myth that no rockets/satellites have ever gone into Earth orbit, mostly because the dome/firmament as described in the Bible Old Testament - is postulated to be in the way and therefore does not permit it.

For them the DOME is an article of faith, because it's a scripture based fictional misunderstanding.  Truth be told, there is NO DOME. 

As evidence to that, at any given time there are usually a few hundred satellites either in geostationary orbit, or in travel around the Earth, passing thru YOUR sky.  Since they are faint to the eye, a pair of binoculars or better yet a small telescope, can now locate these automatically for you with the new software just developed.

Just because a person's religious belief and one sided world view does not allow them to accept satellites in orbit (otherwise their ego would be shattered and they would no longer know who they are), that does not mean it is so.  Reality does not take its cue from human thought.  Reality is as it is, regardless of what we think about it.

And for those still holding on that rockets do not work in a vacuum, better go back to High School and take the 10th grade science class.  

Rockets do work in a vacuum (Newton's 3rd Law of motion states, "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction"), so get over it.  As a rocket engine burns fuel the resulting exhaust gasses (pushing against the engine chamber = the reaction) moves the rocket in the opposite direction.  

Action = combustion and burning of fuel
Reaction = pressure against the rocket engine propelling it in the opposite direction.

The vacuum of space has nothing to do with this action-reaction process.  Air is not needed to "push against".  But in a vacuum since there is no oxygen, the rocket fuel (liquid or solid) needs to have its own supply so combustion can take place.

The ISS - International Space Station is real, and is at an orbital distance of 409 km (254-miles) from the ground.

A few conspirators have revived their stance to claim that the firmament is the Van Allen Radiation belt.  The Earth's two Van Allen belts extend from a range of 500 km (311-miles) to 58,000 km (36,050-miles) above the surface. 

The Van Allen radiation belt is a zone of energetic charged particles, most of which originate from the solar wind.  They are captured by our Earth's planetary magnetic field.  Those same particles are responsible for the aurora borealis, as they are accelerated along the magnetic field lines into our upper atmosphere.  

(But since the Sun is "a light" and not a gaseous hot orb as flat Earth folks contend, wherefrom comes the Van Allen belts?)

But key words here is that the Belts are not a physical structure.  They are an area of trapped charged particles.

So they cannot "physically" prevent a rocket or deep space satellite from going thru and beyond it. 

But then some people contend, how is it possible for human beings to survive the journey through the Belts and make it all the way to the Moon?

"The answer, simply, is that the Apollo astronauts were not in the Van Allen belt for long enough to have to deal with dangerous levels of exposure to radiation."

"The Apollo astronauts did return to Earth having been exposed to significant radiation - but not more than is allowed by US law for workers at nuclear power stations, for instance."


   

As the above drawing shows, the astronauts’ trajectory to the Moon bypassed and skirted around the densest part of the Van Allen Belt.

Comparing the Chernobyl fire fighter's radiation exposure to that of the Apollo astronauts:

It's important to be careful in this discussion because we are talking about 2 different types of radiation (exposure of Chernobyl fire fighters and Van Allen Radiation Belts).  Both can be deadly, but apples are not oranges as the saying goes. 

Chernobyl = thermonuclear decay radiation, neutron and gamma radiation.

Van Allen Radiation Belts = high energy cosmic rays. Protons and electron particle radiation, trapped by the Earth's magnetic field.

Nuclear Radiation is different than Van Allen Radiation

Human symptoms of acute radiation poisoning:

1) 25 -rad exposure = marked by a drop in the number of blood cells, called aplastic anemia.

2) 35 -rad exposure = typically includes nausea and vomiting, headaches, fatigue, fever, and a short period of skin reddening.

3) 600 to 3,000 rad exposure = Gastrointestinal complication

4) 3,000 and above rad exposure = Neurovascular complications

Some of the firefighters who died at Chernobyl received a dose of over 1000 rads (500 rads over a short period of time is generally considered fatal).

The average dose received by Apollo 14 astronauts was 1.14 rads, nowhere near high enough to present with any symptoms.
