Flat Earth NOT - NEW - Flat Earth Confirmed - 7.53 miles - No Curvature - DEBUNKED
Dear Readers,
We have determined that the flat Earth test conducted by Taboo Conspiracy is flawed and unfortunately proves nothing with regard to the shape of the Earth.
If his camera was truly 30.5-inches above the ice on one shore (point G), then it's natural horizon is 1.95-miles away.
The actual lights on the opposite shore are then another 5.58-miles further away (point H).
Since the images recorded by Taboo Conspiracy are elongated (up & down) in shape, those images ARE NOT the actual lights on the opposite shore. Instead, they are the reflected images of those lights on the water/ice and they reside anywhere within the 5.58-mile section past the camera's horizon range, depending upon the extent of atmospheric distortion, refraction and temperature inversion.
Taboo Conspiracy is really showing us reflected water/ice images (from the yellow area), not the round actual flashlight beam itself (at point H).
-
Our summary of reasons why the test is invalid and what led Taboo Conspiracy to wrong conclusions, is as follows:
1) Taboo Conspiracy is looking at diffused (reflected) light images, not the direct actual flashlight source itself.
2) signicant atmospheric distortion exists - as proved by the constant twinkling and changing shapes of the light images
3) long patch of reflected light on water/ice, as proved by light images non-circular long shapes pointing up-and-down, is what was mistakinly claimed to be the actual flashlight beam itself.
4) camera not adequate for such a test - as witnessed by chromatic aberration and non-pinpoint light image resolution.
5) uncertainty about which image is really the flashlight on the opposite shore
Follow the evidence presented in the text & pictures below.

Instead of seeing this - crisp round distinct lights at night from a direct light source, an indirect light source for comparison, and a building or natural feature for sharp contrast...

Taboo Conspiracy shows us this...
At time mark 4:18...
Light twinkles and sputters in color because of turbulence in the atmosphere, due to temperature variation. That causes an image to change slightly in brightness and position, hence "twinkle.
No nice round images seen here. What a monstrosity.
-
At time mark 4:23...
The elongated (up & down) images indicate that we are looking at reflections off the water/ice.
The third image on the right suddenly becomes brighter, due to more favorable light bending and atmospheric turbulence.
-
At time mark 4:24...
The "supposed" flashight image (blue) is still changing color.

For reference, here is what reflected light off water looks like ...

From his own camera...

Other items that interfer with clear images:
1) The camera used for the experiment is very inadiqaute. A much bigger lens aperature and resolving power is needed so that lights appear as lights, not blobs of color.
2) Doing the experiment at night, when you can't see the effects of refraction on the surrounding terrain.
3) Doing it so close to the ground, where the effects of refraction are greatest.
4) Doing it over ice (or near freezing water), well known for creating strange optical effects

And we know from other examples that this type of mirage can pull FAR more of the hidden view over the horizon. For example, in daytime views of Toronto. You can see the Roger's center when it should be hidden, but because it's daytime you can see it's a mirage from the distortion.

There's a nice illustration of the effects of atmospheric refraction across a body of water in this time lapse video.

Watch this video. What is seen at the boundary between land and water/ice is constantly changing.

Other reflections of light on the water/ice evident on Taboo Conspiracies own camera...
