As a scientist with college degree in Astronomy, minor in Physics and Mathematics, I was appalled to find folks telling outright falsities and presenting bad science to bolster suspicion of our known accepted reality - that the Earth is a beautiful blue globe.

This blog clearly shows scientific proofs that debunk everything that flat Earth proponents claim.  Here we also expose the comments those YouTube video channels delete, because they don't want you to see them.

The Earth is not flat.  That claim is a conspiracy theory perpetrated by ignorant people who have ulterior personal motives and agendas.

The Earth is a beautiful blue spheroid globe spinning on an axis 23.5° once each day, and orbiting the Sun every 365.25 days.

In the Netflix documentary about flat Earth, the flat-Earthers performed several scientific experiments which proved themselves wrong. Why didn’t they accept the results of their experiments?

 

Let me hit you with a truth bomb…

Take a ride with me on my “whatif” machine. Let’s imagine a little story…

Flat Earth Frank challenges you to prove the Earth is round. “You say it’s round, ok prove it!”

You design an experiment. You’re going to shine a light across a calm lake at night. If the Earth is curved, the light going over the surface MUST be closer to the water in the middle than it is at either end. Easy enough to test. You set a boat in the middle of the lake with a stick to measure where the light passes the boat. You have sticks at either side of the lake to measure where the light passes there. If the surface of the lake is curved, we’ll see that.

You do the test.

Imagine for a moment, the test shows no curvature. How would you react? What would you say?

Think about that for a moment. Be honest with yourself.

I’d be dumbfounded at first. I think I’d say, “interesting”, and I think I’d sound pretty much exactly like Jeran did.

The reality is, no single experiment would be enough for any of us to radically change our world view instantly.

HOWEVER, those among us who have intellectual integrity would take some time to reflect on this unexpected result. We would go back through our other observations and double-check them. We would seek out expert opinions, and we would try to solve this new puzzle. How could it be that we got this result? Does this really mean the Earth is flat? If so, how do we explain all the other observation?

That’s where the flat Earth folks dropped the ball. We saw Bob trying to keep his findings under wraps. If you followed up on it, maybe you saw the video of Bob wrestling with this result. If you really followed up on it, you probably understood what Bob did not - that the gyro is telling him EXACTLY what the scientists have been trying to tell him for the past 2000 years. But the math behind that is a little complex, and Bob doesn’t see how it works. Plenty of people are happy to explain it to him, but Bob doesn’t trust us.

TBH, I didn’t really follow up with Jeran’s result. I gather it hasn’t changed his world view at all.
