UrBrain Wash - The Flat Earth:Understanding Linear Perspective And Vanishing Points
Dear UrBrain Wash,
Fact check = You FAIL.
Perspective only shows us and explains what objects look like from a distance, and how to draw our three dimensional world onto a two dimensional canvas (flat piece of parchment) or picture.
As seem from the 3 pictures below, a TWO dimensional representation of our THREE dimensional world - is very misleading, deceptive, and does not give us a true picture of how an object really looks.
In graphical perspective, a vanishing point is a point in the picture plane (a 2 dimensional form) that is the intersection of the projections (or drawings) of a set of parallel lines in space on to the picture plane.
The vanishing point is of no real significance in our 3D world.
The vanishing point (distance of convergence) in a picture of even the same object, will vary based upon the focal length of the camera.
Using a camera telephoto lens distorts how far away the vanishing point really is.
Using a telescope EVEN FURTHER distorts how far away the vanishing point really is.
Conclusion:
Any attempt to use the vanishing point argument as proof that the Earth is flat - is wrong since we live in a 3D world.
