Alternative Cosmology - New Model Coming Along
Dear Alternative Cosmology,
So how is your new model coming along?
The source document that you show at time mark 3:21 is actually part of a Planisphere..
A planisphere consists of a circular star chart attached at its center to an opaque circular overlay that has a clear elliptical window or hole so that only a portion of the sky map will be visible in the window or hole area at any given time. The chart and overlay are mounted so that they are free to rotate about a common pivot point at their centers.
The star chart contains the brightest stars, constellations and (possibly) deep-sky objects "visible from a particular latitude on Earth."
Fact check:
A planisphere shows the stars that are visible in the night sky, and the rotation wheel is used to set it for a particular month.
Did you notice that the 12 months of the year are written on the outside circle?
Fact check: - because...
1. The stars visible in the northern latitudes are not seen in the southern latitude sky. And visa versa. You need a different planisphere for each Earth hemisphere (north and south).
2. If you go outside to look at the night sky the same time day after day (say after sunset) you will notice that the constellation patterns change over time.
Some stars are visible only in the spring directly after sunset, while other stars are visible only in the winter after sunset.
3. Your model also shows the position of the planets in the night sky. However, those positions change daily. How will your model account for that?
I suggest that you take an astronomy 101 class as soon as possible - to prevent mistakes while building your model.
And once the model is done, OK. Then its time to test it out - to see if its any good = it correctly shows you what is in "your" night sky.
Let us know how you are progressing.
