Awake Souls (Jason Laufenberg) - already deceiving people even before his 3-miles beach curvature test
Jason Laufenberg and Ronnie Harris (Awake Souls and The Limitless Channel) will only do the experiment using other people's money
August 20, 2018 update:
Jason Laufenberg and Ronnie Harris (Awake Souls and The Limitless Channel) will only do the experiment using other people's money.
Update: September 8, 2018. As expected, the experiment was cancelled.
"and to top it off ZERO flat earthers were interested in helping the test! "
-
Update: August 20, 2018.
When Robert Oberdove asked, "Why don't you Jason and Ronnie just put up $2,500 each and be done with the fund raising? You know you're not going to get $5,000 in donations. It's almost as if you want the fund raiser to fail so you have an excuse for not doing the experiment."
... they deleted that comment from public view.
PS - It would be nice if Jason and Ronnie were able to do this experiment, because their professional surveyor using a theodolite (a precision optical instrument for measuring angles between designated visible points in the horizontal and vertical planes) would inform then that over the total length of 3-miles - vis-a-vis the 4x4 posts - there is noticeable deviation from level => the Earth is curved.
PS - There are also fluid dynamic issues that they don't understand, which will invalidate their expected drip-tube water level anticipated results.
PS - The local county/government authorities would never grant them a permit to setup 4x4 posts and tubing in the sand - extending into the water on a public beach - where hundreds if not thousands of people would be swimming during Labor Day weekend. Such tubing poses a risk to swimmers for entanglement and possible drowning. If they just show up at the beach (with no permit) the cops will descend on them rather quickly for posing a risk to the swimming public.
PS - For the above reasons and others, the experiment will never be completed.

July 26, 2018 update: - it's on again, with a Labor Day weekend Galveston celebration meetup...
Some of the experiment specifics to prove that the Earth is flat:
September 1, 2018 - Labor Day - also the birthday of Jason
Galveston TX beach
They have as yet (8/4/2018) not applied for a permit to do their work on the beach
They will drive a 4 x 4 post into the sand, one every half mile down the beach, for 3-miles - very close to the water
In the water they will lay 3-miles of drip tubbing (of coarse all the thousands of people swimming there that day will have to be careful not to get tangled in it)
A certified surveyor will be present
Build a 3-mile sea wall connected to the 4 x 4 posts and the drip tubing
The entire experiment (digging posts, build sea wall, install 3-miles of drip tubing) to be completed in 1-day
Have a celebration after the experiment (no alcohol permitted) because it may be a church service
etc.

November 26, 2017 update:
We asked the following question to Jason Laugenberg, "11/19/2017 - So it's been 4-weeks now. Let's see the results of this test please."
He responded by deleting that comment. So as of today that test has not been performed.

Dear Awake Souls (Jason Laufenberg),
So even before you started your beach curvature test you put an expected test limit of 3-miles. We pointed out to you that at 3-miles you will not be able to detect Earth curvature, but you will at 6+ miles. We recommended that you test 6-10 miles to be totally accurate and fair.
However, your response was to delete our comments with Earth curvature calculations and suggestions, on doing YOUR test CORRECTLY. You selectively edited them out so that your subscribers would not see them.
We call that deliberate deception and dishonestly. And yet from you, coming from such a religious and supposedly pious background?
Have you not read that in 1838 Samuel Rowbothan conducted a 6-miles curvature test in the Bedford Cannel of England, and that to this very day his findings are still in dispute?
The main comment that you deleted:
5.6 miles is the correct distance.
You are kidding yourself at 3-miles and need to do some calculations before you start.
Paint the top few feet of each post a different color.
Criteria - the very top of every post should be exactly 5-feet above the sand.
Criteria - the observational instrument at the starting line should be exactly 5-feet above the sand Criteria - how are going to measure line-of-sight distance from the starting line to the next observed post?
A wooden post at 5.6 miles away from the starting point will be completely hidden by the earth's curvature. Any measurement shorter than that will be hard to accurately make, and will be inconclusive. Do 5.6 miles!
* - If your eye is 5 feet above the sand, an object at distance 3-miles will only drop 0.55-inches due to curvature. You will never notice that.
- If your eye is 5 feet above the sand, an object at distance 4-miles will only drop 1.06 feet due to curvature. How do you plan to see or confirm the 1.06 feet drop? A lot less than the post height. That is a downward change of 0.018 degrees from a straight horizontal. You will not that.
- If your eye is 5 feet above the sand, an object at distance 5-miles will only drop 3.41 feet due to curvature. Still not far enough away from the starting line to lose sight of the wooden post.
* Here is the distance that you need to check to verify curvature.
Anything less that 5.6 miles is a failure
If your eye is 5 feet above the sand, an object at distance 5.5-miles will only drop 5.06 feet due to curvature
That is enough to completely hide the 5-foot post, if it was set properly.
Document your measurements well and present to us when finished.

Directly below is our only comment that currently shows up on his site...
Jason edited (deleted certain comments) to make himself look good, and to appear as an honest broker.
But wait - he knows nothing will be found at 3-miles, so will he declare victory (no curvature!) at that point, or really continue onto test 6-10 miles?
We will have to wait and see.
