Pastor Ernest / Brother Ernest (Ernest Perce) - Filming the Translucent Blue Moon with a Nikon P900 on Nov 18, 2016
Dear Pastor Ernest,
Fact check = You FAIL
Your statement, "The Earth is not casting a shadow against the Moon. The Sun & Moon so close proves the flat Earth."
100% Wrong.
Obviously you don't understand celestial orbital mechanics. Or maybe you just don't care either, since you’re on a mission from God?
As shown in the picture below, the Moon's orbit is inclined 5 degrees to that of the Earth. It's only when/where both paths cross each other, once every lunar month, that its possible for the Moon to be in the Earth's shadow.
And even then it all depends upon where the Sun is located at that same time. To have a lunar eclipse, the Sun-Earth-Moon need to ALL be lined up perfectly.
A lunar eclipse is when the Moon enters the Earth's shadow.
A lunar eclipse is a very regular and natural phenomenon that can be calculated ahead of time, as to when it will occur and where on the Earth you can see it.
For example, here is a schedule of some that are upcoming...
February 10 & 11, 2017 Lunar penumbral eclipse
August 7 & 8, 2017 Lunar partial eclipse
January 31, 2018 total lunar eclipse
July 27 & 28, 2018 total lunar eclipse
etc. etc. etc.....
Fact check = You FAIL
The Moon is not translucent.
Just because the Moon is visible during daylight hours, and when in certain phases it's outline against the sky is not that distinct, that doesn't mean it's translucent.
If you truly think that the Moon is translucent, you are nuts.
Fact check = You FAIL
Your statement, "The Sun & Moon so close proves the flat Earth."
Not.
Stars and planets can be billions of miles apart in space. Just because they are both in the same area of the sky, proves nothing.
Since you mention that the Sun and Moon are so close, how many miles apart are they?
Multiple choice:
a) 50 miles
b) 1,000 miles
c) 10,000 miles
d) 50,000 miles
e) 100,000 miles
f) 1 million miles
g) 93 million miles
h) none of the above
What is your answer? But you can't guess. To prove your answer, you must show us the instrumentation that you used to measure the distances.
Why do you spout all your nonsense when you know nothing about astronomy?
