FlatEarth Photography - NASA busted! - The impossible FULL MOON & Sun above horizon - Nikon coolpix P900
Dear FlatEarth Photography,
Fact check 1 = You FAIL
You have fallen under the spell of these two common flat Earth fallacies:
Common sense - "Seeing is believing." The claim that human senses are infallible.
Personal incredulity - of spmepne finds a topic o issue difficult to understand, they therefore claim it cannot be true.
Fact check 2 = You FAIL
NASA is not responsible for your ignorance, or for regulating the law of nature. A full Moon and Sun can be seen at the same time in the sky, for a very short period, due to refraction of light (bending down underneath the horizon) in the atmosphere.
So why do you hold NASA responsible?
The lunar phase depends on the Moon's position in orbit around the Earth and the Earth's position in orbit around the Sun. That's been known for centuries.
Fact check 3 = You FAIL
If you want to be specific, your Dublin, Ireland, observation of the Moon and Sun were made a bit too early (1-hour and 52-minues before full Moon).
May 10, 2017
Location is Dublin, Ireland
20:51:05 local time when the shot of the Moon was taken
So in UT time = 19:51:05 that is
Full Moon 21:42 UTC
20 102
19 51
1 hour 52 minutes before full moon
Dublin to UT time conversion Ireland is 1 hour ahead of UT time
Fact check 4 = You FAIL
The time of sunset is defined in astronomy as the moment when the trailing edge of the Sun's disk disappears below the horizon. Near to the horizon, atmospheric refraction causes the ray path of light from the Sun to be distorted to such an extent that geometrically the Sun's disk is already about one diameter below the horizon when sunset is observed
So the sun is visible in the evening sky for a time after it has really set below the observers horizon.
Fact check 5 = You FAIL
You make the preposterous claim "you will also see a Sun only 3 miles away," without providing an explanation of how you precisely measured the 3 miles. What equipment did you use? Why not 5.27 miles?
Fact check 6 = You FAIL

Because of refraction, the Sun can be seen in the sky after it has really set.
