As a scientist with college degree in Astronomy, minor in Physics and Mathematics, I was appalled to find folks telling outright falsities and presenting bad science to bolster suspicion of our known accepted reality - that the Earth is a beautiful blue globe.

This blog clearly shows scientific proofs that debunk everything that flat Earth proponents claim.  Here we also expose the comments those YouTube video channels delete, because they don't want you to see them.

The Earth is not flat.  That claim is a conspiracy theory perpetrated by ignorant people who have ulterior personal motives and agendas.

The Earth is a beautiful blue spheroid globe spinning on an axis 23.5° once each day, and orbiting the Sun every 365.25 days.

Fact Check = No winners, no losers
The students did not contest the established scientific evidence presented by Professor Levine that shows the Earth does rotate. Rather, they were just one pointed in their distrust and insistence that NASA is a lying entity.  Two different and divergent conversations were going on. 

So the title of your video could equally have been, "Flat Earth former students fail to convince their professor that the Earth is flat" 

Fact:
Students did not dispute or contest the scientific evidence.

Dr. Levine said, "You think that the Earth is not spinning on its north/south axis?"

CT2 said, 'I’m not saying it’s one way or the other. All I’m saying is that there is no proof that we are spinning. NASA has a way of leaving much to our imagination.

Fact Check = student FAIL
Student statement, "Never seen a video of the spinning earth from space is all that’s being said. Can you provide one or an explanation as to why one doesn’t exist? Do you believe we went to the moon in 1969?

The correct answer...
Thousands of images of those exist.

Below are several images of the Earth taken from space by the DSCOVR satellite.  

NASA's DSCOVR satellite is currently in placed in the L1 point at about 1,000,000 miles from earth doing the same thing, The EPIC cameras are taking 13 pictures at once in different single color spectrums, so to get true color, they superimpose the red green and blue pictures to make a full color picture.  EPIC takes a new picture every 2-hours.

If you don't trust NASA and choose not to believe what is on that web site, well - that's your personal problem.  Fact remains that the DSCOVR satellite and EPIC images are real.

Here is a short list of satellites that have been circumnavigating the Earth, from Pole to Pole, since the 1960's.  They have the pictures you want. These circumpolar satellites, none affiliated with NASA, all verify that the Earth is a round globe.

Fact Check = Student FAIL.  
Student CT1 says, "the effects of passing thru the VA (Van Allen) belts are fatal if not shielded from the radiation, NASA admits in there new ORION preparations as much in their testing.  I'll look for your reply tonight, enjoy your class professor."

The correct answer...
Astronaut radiation exposure depends primarily upon what trajectory their craft takes thru the Van Allen belts.  11 Apollo missions passed thru the VA belts with non-threatening radiation exposures.    

Your supposed NASA engineer (Kelly Smith) that commented on the Van Allen Radiation Belts has been (purposely) misunderstood.

Comparing the Chernobyl fire fighter's radiation exposure to that of the Apollo astronauts:

It's important to be careful in this discussion because we are talking about 2 different types of radiation (exposure of Chernobyl fire fighters and Van Allen Radiation Belts).  Both can be deadly, but apples are not oranges as the saying goes. 

Chernobyl = thermonuclear decay radiation, neutron and gamma radiation.

Van Allen Radiation Belts = high energy cosmic rays. Protons and electron particle radiation, trapped by the Earth's magnetic field.

Nuclear Radiation is different than Van Allen Radiation

Human symptoms of acute radiation poisoning:

1) 25 -rad exposure = marked by a drop in the number of blood cells, called aplastic anemia.

2) 35 -rad exposure = typically includes nausea and vomiting, headaches, fatigue, fever, and a short period of skin reddening.

3) 600 to 3,000 rad exposure = Gastrointestinal complication

4) 3,000 and above rad exposure = Neurovascular complications

Some of the firefighters who died at Chernobyl received a dose of over 1000 rads (500 rads over a short period of time is generally considered fatal).

The average dose received by Apollo 14 astronauts was 1.14 rads, nowhere near high enough to present with any symptoms.

In conclusion:  Science is not a win or lose discipline.  The scientific method always gives us the best explanation that is known to humanity at the time.

For the conspiracy minded lack of proof is evidence of the level and intensity of the conspiracy.  But remember that lack of evidence is not evidence itself.
