Believing that the Earth is flat and stationary has fooled you and mankind for years - before the dawning of human reason, science, physics, astronomy, and telescopes.
The Earth being a globe, revolving on an axis of 23.5 degrees with respect to the solar system plane, and orbiting the Sun once every year - is not the property of NASA, the Government, or any one.
It is just fact, backed by the scientific work of thousands of people over the centuries.

At time mark 0:49 you state, "imagine saying to people no no, the atmosphere is moving also, but is somehow magically velcro-ed to the Earth."
No. Gravity is the primary force that attracts the atoms and molecules in the Earth's atmosphere, and keeps them bond to the surface.
No. Momentum, or continuity of motion, is also another factor that holds our atmosphere in place.
But some atmospheric molecules are always escaping into space.
Case in point:
Helium is not freely found in our atmosphere. That is because the Earth's gravitational attraction is not strong enough to hold it down. Thats why Helium was first discovered in the Sun, and not on the Earth.
About 50% of our atmosphere is below 5-miles of elevation above the Earths surface.
About 90% of our atmosphere is below 10-miles of elevation above the Earths surface.
Ever wonder why in an airplane the cabin is pressurized?
That's because if you were directly exposed to the atmosphere at 35,000 feet, there is not enough oxygen to breath. You would pass out in 30-45 seconds.
At the Earth's surface the oxygen content in the atmosphere is 20.9%
At an altitude of 29,000 feet it is 6.9%

Most of our atmosphere (about 78%) is nitrogen. At 25 degrees Celsius (77 F), nitrogen molecules have an average velocity of about 511 m/s (1676 ft/s).
Hydrogen, for example, has an average speed of 1930 m/s (6,332 ft/s). Still not fast enough for the average molecule to escape the Earth, but a small amount will be moving fast enough to escape.
And in fact we see that. About 95,000 tons of hydrogen manage to escape our atmosphere each year. But don't get too worried, that's only 0.00000000000017% of the Earth's supply of hydrogen.
