Introduction

Dear Visitors,                                                                                                                                    April 21, 2017

Thank you for stopping at FlatEarthLunacy.com

As a scientist with college degree in Astronomy, minor in Physics and Mathematics, I was appalled to find folks telling outright falsities and presenting bad science to bolster suspicion of our known accepted reality - that the Earth is a beautiful blue globe.

This blog clearly shows scientific proofs that debunk everything that flat Earth proponents claim.  Here we also expose the comments those YouTube video channels delete, because they don't want you to see them.

The Earth is not flat.  That claim is a conspiracy theory perpetrated by ignorant people who have ulterior personal motives and agendas.

The Earth is a beautiful blue spheroid globe spinning on an axis 23.5° once each day, and orbiting the Sun every 365.25 days.

Mike Helmick - 2 ISS Space Station How NASA NOW fakes weightlessness 100 explained in detail Flat Earth

Dear Mike Helmick,

Fact check 1 = You FAIL
Your research and information about the NASA Telemetrics contract is 100% wrong (see exhibit 1 picture below).

The NASA Telemetrics contract had nothing to do with the purchase or contract for CGI/television/newscast productions/animation/virtual reality capability as you stated in your video.  That is misinformation on your part.

Simply stated, the contract awarded to Telemetrics was for modern cameras and their operating software only.

According to the contract...

"Mahwah, NJ (January 03, 2007) – An established leader in camera robotics and control technology, Telemetrics Inc. announces that they have been awarded the contract to provide NASA’s John F. Kennedy Space Center with an Operational Television (OTV) Camera Control System. The system is designed to act as a television acquisition and distribution system for viewing space vehicles and launches at Launch Complex 39 of the space center.

OTV provides surveillance of facilities, space vehicles and payloads associated with checkout, countdown, launch, and landing operations at KSC. Video feeds from OTV cameras are normally available for KSC wide-area distribution via the OTV switching systems. OTV video is also used as source video during launch or landing activities to NASA TV and local and worldwide broadcast operations by routing through the Kennedy Space Center News Facility (KSCNF).

The new camera control system (OTV Control System), which replaces a system that has been in operation for 20 years, is capable of controlling 256 infrared (IR), standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) cameras as well as other types of equipment with expansion capabilities. In addition, the camera control system will be capable of emulating the existing camera control protocol. This will allow users to control both legacy analog end-items and new analog or digital end items with complete control transparency to the user.

The main components of the system include a new ergonomic Touchscreen Remote Control Panel, multiple Camera Station Controllers, Camera Station Interfaces, and Maintenance Workstations for full system administration and control. Telemetrics cameras and equipment are also in operation at NASA’s Houston Launch Center site."

Mr. Mike Helmick.  Was this sloppy research on your part or just deliberate deception?

Fact check  2 = You FAIL
Just because CGI and real time animation technology can make life in zero gravity look real, that does not prove that's what NASA, and other international space organizations, did.

That burden of proof still rests with you.

Fact check 3 = You FAIL
The NASA solicitation number document (NNJ13461147L) is a request for:

"The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)/Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center (JSC) is hereby soliciting potential sources for software, robotics, and space systems services in the fields of (1) advanced collaborative engineering and process automation; (2) advanced automation software; (3) advanced human-computer interfaces and situational awareness systems; and (4) avionics flight software."

It's for engineering robotics & human-computer interfaces, etc.

Fact: Your action item..

So you truly believe that NASA is wasting billions of dollars on fake space exploration?  That there really is no ISS or orbiting satellites?

That ís way too big of a story just to keep to yourself on YouTube.  I suggest that you share your supporting evidence with your local State Senator and House of Representatives member as soon as possible.

Fact:  Today NASA employs thousands of hard working scientists and engineers, who support their families and contribute positively to society.

NASA projects BENEFIT (with good paying full-time jobs) AMERICAN MIDDLE CLASS families and thousands of other families in the world...

Over the past 57 years (1958 - 2015) NASA has employed an average of 66,000 people (direct hire and direct sub-contractor) each year.  That has contributed billions of dollars to our working population and the USA economy.

In 1965 NASA directly employed 411,000 (highest) people.

In 1982 NASA directly employed 42,399 (lowest) people.

NASA employees at the Goddard Space Flight Center are the ones monitoring daily UVB radiation, keeping track of the ozone layer, and providing data to local weather stations so that they can forecast a daily UVB and pollution alert.

Today some of their budget is supporting projects with SpaceX, which employees 4,000 people.

Here is a list of NASA contractors that benefit - 56 companies which employ thousands of people.

The list includes Boeing, ITT Corporation, Lockheed Martin Space Operations, Northrop Grumman and other well-known names.

NASA, USAID Open Environmental Information Hub for Southeast Asia

NASA and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Monday launched SERVIR-Mekong, a joint project to strengthen regional environmental monitoring in five countries in the lower Mekong region of Southeast Asia.

One of three SERVIR hubs now operating in developing regions of the world, the center is housed at the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center in Bangkok, Thailand, and joins a growing global community of scientists and decision-makers using publicly available data from space assets to address critical regional issues.

"Today, NASA demonstrates the human impact of its science mission here on Earth and our commitment to protecting the resources, the environment and most of all the millions of people living, working and raising new generations of pioneers and innovators across the region," said NASA Administrator Charles Bolden, who took part in the facility's official opening along with NASA Chief Scientist Ellen Stofan.

Researchers draw on a continuous stream of space-based climate, weather and other Earth observation data from NASA and its partners, sharing timely information with governments and researchers in Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam and addressing issues such as water management, land use planning, disaster risk reduction and management of natural resources.

NASA Awards Grants for Technologies That Could Transform Space Exploration

NASA has selected eight university-led proposals to study innovative, early stage technologies that will address high-priority needs of America's space program.

The selected proposals for unique, disruptive or transformational space technologies will investigate challenges in the areas of solar cell operations at high temperatures, atmospheric entry model development, synthetic biology applications for space exploration and dynamic tensegrity-based space structures. Tensegrity is a property of structures that employs continuous tension and discontinuous compression to produce exceptionally strong structures for their mass.

"These early career researchers will provide fuel for NASA's innovation engine," said Steve Jurczyk, associate administrator for NASA's Space Technology Mission Directorate at the agency's Headquarters in Washington. "Technology drives exploration, and investments in these technologies and technologists is essential to ensure NASA and the nation have the capabilities necessary to meet the challenges we will face as we journey to Mars. The faculty selected and their colleagues help assure a robust university research community dedicated to advanced space technology development."

The awards are approximately $200,000 per year, up to a possible three years of research, for outstanding early-career faculty who research space technologies that are high priorities for NASA missions.

One of the Best Pictures Ever Taken of ISS from the Ground. You Can Even See the Canadarm2, by Nancy Atkinson of universetoday.com

Excerpt:

"Astrophotographer Thierry Legault is renowned for his amazing shots of spacecraft transiting the Sun. He’s now outdone even himself.

On June 24 and 25, 2020, Legault captured the International Space Station passing in front of the Sun with such clarity, even the station’s robotic arm, the Canadarm2, is clearly visible. The docked SpaceX Dragon capsule can also be seen. These latest masterpieces from Legault are the most detailed ISS images captured from Earth yet.

Legault credited some new equipment for the increased clarity.

“My new CFF apochromatic triplet 8″ refractor I bought 2 weeks before the shots seems to be optically very good,” he told Universe Today via email. “Focusing is critical and is always a challenge, especially nowadays because there are no sunspots. I had to focus on the solar limb, and fortunately, at the distance of the ISS, there’s no difference in focusing between the Sun and the ISS.”

Legault said the camera he uses, and Olympus E M-1 II, has the fastest continuous shooting: 60 frames per second in 20 Mpix Raw mode. But he has less than a second to capture the space station’s pass in front of the Sun....."

Summary for you readers:

Mike Helmick has a personal Christian evangelical purpose for swaying your mind.  This video is but one attempt by him.  He is not an honest independent scientist interested in presenting the reality of the universe.

Science is not against God as Mike Helmick would like you to think.  That's his fallacy.  Don't perpetuate it.  Science is just fact, as determined by the best human minds, today and thru the centuries past.
