Fact check = You FAIL
NASA clearly states right off the bat, that the "Rains of Terror" image on their website, is an artistic conception/impression of what the planet COULD look like.
Nowhere is it claimed by NASA that the picture is really the planet itself.
As such, analyzing that .jpg image and looking for evidence of Photoshop/cropping/manipulation proves nothing about its authenticity or whether anyone is lying (other than your mistake to think so).
When will we have the technology to directly observe an exoplanet with significant clarity?
Answer: Not in the immediate future, but in years to come when larger telescopes are launched into space.
Astronomers have generally had to resort to indirect methods to detect exoplanets. They are so faint and far away. The Hubble Telescope is not powerful enough to resolve the exoplanet image into a disk.
Current methods for detecting exoplanets include:
Radial velocity
Transit photometry
Reflection/emission modulations
Ellipsoidal variations
Pulsar timing
Transit timing
Polarimetry
Astrometry
... and a host of other clever and proven methods.
Conclusion:
Since the "Rains of Terror" image is not of the actual planet itself (as stated so clearly by NASA and others) your video does not prove that NASA is lying.
